From one of the most influential alternative bands of the decade to the new generation of hip-hop. Vampire Weekend, Lil Uzi Vert, Rudimental and Sheck Wes join the Open'er Festival 2019 line-up. |
VAMPIRE WEEKEND First time at Open'er and first time in Poland. One of the most important bands of the decade for alternative music lovers. Vampire Weekend’s 2008 self titled debut escaped the standard indie-rock definition with an unexpected fusion of African music and their own rhythmical blend. Their next albums, "Contra" (2010) and "Modern Vampires Of The City" (2013) brought them to the first league of most recognizable alternative bands and even a Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album. All three previous albums were Pitchfork picks as Best New Music. Their new album is already finished and the release date is scheduled for next year. |

Since 2015, and the premiere of the "Luv Is Rage" mixtape, he has been gaining popularity. In 2017 media praised him for his cooperation with Migos ("Bad And Boujee"), which resulted in the first number one on Billboard. Soon after, he got his first solo track ("XO Tour Lif3") in the Top 10. To this day, he can boast of cooperation with, among others, Gucci Man, Kanye West and Travis Scott. Although, quite surprisingly, the rapper revealed that his dream is to record a track with ... Marilyn Manson. |

SHECK WES From Harlem to the Open'er stage! Khadimou Fall, known as Sheck Wes, is an American rapper of Senegalese descent, who in his teenage years signed a contract with Kanye West and Travis Scott. After the incredible success of his single "Mo Bamba" (over 90 million views on YouTube) and the well-received "Live Sheck Wes Die Sheck Wes" or "Chippi Chippi", the fans finally got his debut album "Mudboy" which premiered in October and received very good reviews (Best New Music on Pitchfork). Although in his songs Sheck Wes focuses mainly on autobiographical themes and life on the streets of New York, there are also verses in "Jiggy On The Shits" that are a nod to his Senegalese roots. |
