9 new artists join Open'er 2023!

MACHINE GUN KELLY

Machine Gun Kelly is an artist, who is an atomic force in music, entertainment, film and fashion. In 2020, the Cleveland native eclipsed genre expectations releasing a Rock/Pop Punk album, the widely acclaimed "Tickets to My Downfall", which spawned two alternative chart-toppers - "bloody valentine" and "my ex’s best friend,". In 2022 he followed with „Mainstream Sellout”, his second album to hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The album is nominated for a 2023 Grammy Award for “Best Rock Album”. We are happy to welcome him at Open’er 2023 – June 29, Orange Main Stage.Kendrick Lamar, one of of the most important artists in the history of hip-hop, multi-platinum, Grammy and Emmy Award winning artist and co-founder of creative imprint pgLang, has achieved massive critical and cultural success since his debut album „good kid, m.A.A.d city” released in 2012. Since its premiere, Lamar has accumulated a staggering total of 14 Grammy wins, and became the first non-classical, non-jazz musician to win a Pulitzer Prize for his 2017 album „DAMN.” Lamar’s latest album „Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers”, was released in May 2022 immediately earning rave reviews. A musical visionary. A hip-hop genius. Kendrick Lamar headlines Open’er 2023!The nature of Lizzo is best described by the title of her latest album - she's a special artist. A 3-time Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter, rapper, actress, and so much more, Lizzo has shifted the sound, soul, and spirit of popular music thanks to hits like “Juice,” “Good As Hell” and “Truth Hurts” from the breakthrough album "Cuz I Love You" (2019), as well as "About Damn Time" or "2 Be Loved (Am I Ready)" from this year's "Special". Her raw talent is accompanied by a lot of charisma, which is omnipresnt in her music, involvement in social issues, as well as heart-stopping live shows. She was crowned 2019’s “Entertainer of the Year” by both TIME and Entertainment Weekly, and has since only raised the bar. Thanks to the overwhelming success of "Special", Lizzo is also up for more awards at the upcoming Grammys 2023. At the same time, you can feel that she is only warming up for more. GIRL IN RED

Marie Ulven - a.k.a. girl in red is a Scandinavian intimate rock/pop sensation, who released her debut album "if i could make it go quiet" in 2021. 2018’s breakout single “i wanna be your girlfriend” established Ulven as a talent to watch, she amassed a worldwide following that heard themselves in her poetic lyrics, at times hopelessly romantic and painfully direct, that meshed beautifully with the sparse yet captivating arrangements she wrote and produced herself. See her live at Tent Stage, July 1. This month marks exactly 25 years since their first show ever and Queens Of The Stone Age only strengthen their position as one of the biggest global rock machines. Led by Josh Homme, the band recorded seven albums – from their eponymous debut (1998) and „Rated R” (2000), through the grounbreaking  "Songs for the Deaf" (2002), followed by "Lullabies to Paralyze" (2005) and "Era Vulgaris" (2007), up to  "...Like Clockwork" (2013) and most recent - "Villains" (2017), which landed in the Top 5 in many countries and earned a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album. The band can also boast an incredibly faithfull fanbase and legendary cooperations, including Dave Grohl, Trent Reznor, Elton John and Mark Ronson. CHRISTINE AND THE QUEENS

After 2014 and „Chaleur humaine”, there was no doubt Christine And The Queens is a musical gem we will watch shine in the following years. The album landed at No 2 in France and UK (also becoming a best-selling debut in UK). The following two albums „Chris” (2018) and „Redcar les adorables étoiles (prologue)” (2022) only cemented his position as one of Europe’s most interesting alternative pop artists. Christine And The Queens live at Open’er – June 28, Tent Stage.

THUNDERCAT

Thundercat is undoubtedly one of the most creative artists in music. The two-time Grammy winner, including for the 2020 album „It Is What It Is”, collaborated with outstanding names like Childish Gambino, Kamasi Washington, BADBADNOTGOOD, Ty Dolla $ign, Anderson.Paak, Ariana Grande. He is also one of the co-producers of Kendrick Lamar’s 2015 masterpiece „To Pimp A Butterfly”. His neverending stream of achievements is an outcome of raw talent and years of hard work. You have to see him live at Open’er – June 30, Alter Stage.

LOVEJOY

LoveJoy are one of the biggest British indie-rock phenomena in recent years. Fronted by Wilbur Soot, also known from his online personality status, the band also comprises of Joe Goldsmith, Ash Kabosu and Mark Boardman. In 2021 LoveJoy released the EP „Are You Alright?” with 3 tracks making it to UK Official Singles Chart – „One Day”, „Taunt” i „Sex Sells”. Their tracks have so far gathered half a bilion streams on Spotify alone. See them at Tent Stage, June 30!

DESTROY LONELY

The Atlanta resident Destroy Lonely joined Playboi Carti’s label Opium and released his debut "No Stylist” in 2022. Similar to Sir Cartier, he feels best in dark attire and designer clothes. His work is best summarized by Rolling Stone: „Destroy Lonely makes whatever the hell he wants. He plans to inspire you to do the same”. Check him out at Alter Stage, July 1.

SYLVAN ESSO

Sylvan Esso is an artistic child of singer Amelia Meath and producer Nick Sanborn. The American electro-pop duo debuted in 2014 with their self-titled album, which landed on #7 of Billboard's Independent Albums charts and became their pass to the biggest American festivals, including Coachella, Lollapalooza andy Austin City Limits. In 2017 they presented „What Now”, their Grammy nominated album. Their next LP „Free Love” came in 2020 and last year saw the release of their fourth album „No Rules Sandy”. We'll see them live at Alter Stage - July 1.

TOUCHÉ AMORÉ
Touché Amoré have earned a status of one of the most acclaimed American post-hardcore bands of the last decade. Founded in Los Angeles the band created 5 studio albums - „...To the Beat of a Dead Horse” (2009), „Parting the Sea Between Brightness and Me” (2011), „Is Survived By” (2013), „Stage Four” (2016), and „Lament” (2020). Feel their energy on June 29 at Alter Stage.
