OTHER PEOPLE

Other People

3-6.07, Theatre 2 | 3.07 - 2-4pm ; 4-6.07 - noon-2 pm

The play directed by Grzegorz Jarzyna is based on a hip-hop poem masterpiece by Dorota Masłowska – one of the most important Polish writers. The cast includes Marcin Czarnik, Rafał Maćkowiak, Aleksandra Popławska, Tomasz Tyndyk, Adam Woronowicz, Yacine Zmit and Agnieszka Żulewska, among others. Action of this urban anti-ballad takes place in Warsaw – a city immersed in smog and depression, fuelled by drugs and booze. This metropolis – the collective protagonist of the play – attracts both careerists and losers, artists and corporate employees, students and emigrants, promising illusive happiness and fake success. The performances will take place for the first time since their premiere in Warsaw.

You can only attend the play, if you are 16 years, or older.

WE ARE LEAVING

We Are Leaving

4-6.07, Theatre 1 | 4-6.07 - 11 am-2:30 pm

Krzysztof Warlikowski returns to the work of Hanoch Levin 12 years after the release of “Krum”, which was a great breakthrough in the stage reading of this author’s work and a huge success in Warlikowski’s career. This time, the director reaches for the „Suitcase Packers”. The time that elapsed since the first enstaging of Levin’s text marked the history of Poland and Europe with many dramatic turns. The play’s subtitle – „Comedy with Eight Funerals” – sounds like a subtitle of a musical piece suggesting a need to employ an excellent “orchestra” made up of great acting personalities, such as Agata Buzek, Magdalena Cielecka, Ewa Dałkowska, Maja Ostaszewska, Jaśmina Polak, Magdalena Popławska, Ewa Skibińska, Andrzej Chyra, Bartosz Gelner, Marek Kalita, Zygmunt Malanowicz, Jacek Poniedziałek and Maciej Stuhr.
