The Art project is already an innate part of the festival.  "Show Us Your Dreams", an exhibition of works from the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw's collection, was the first museum exhibition in the large summer festival space in Europe.  It had 15,000 visitors over the four festival days!

Once again, the theatre audience was full, watching "Dziady / The Forefathers' Eve" by Radosław Rychcik.

Another staging was the moving, award-winning "A Winter's Journey" by Maja Kleczewska.

The festival area also featured an installation from Joanna Rajkowska and Michał Rudnicki. Their work, "Soundlessness", joined Maurycy Gomulicki's "Totem" and "Antek" by Paweł Althamer and Grupa Nowolipie in the Open’er Gallery.

The ALTERCAFE stage featured  POŻAR W BURDELU with the "SONGS OF POLISH FOLK" show. Unearthed this year, a book of obscene folk songs collected by Oskar Kolberg inspired the Pożar w Burdelu cast to create a musical show about the repressed roots of the Polish song. At a special invitation from Open’er Festival, Pożar w Burdelu performed with a legend of the 1990s alternative Polish scene, the godfathers of obscene rock - Brothel on Fire.
ALTERKINO's repertoire oscillated at the meeting point of sound and vision. It also includes documentaries that tackle topics close and dear to the festival goers' hearts. It featured a pre-remiere of "Frank", inspired by the Frank Sidebottom original persona; "Mistaken for Strangers" - a backstage view of The National tour; "Love Story" - an improvised film, as well as a review of unusual photos of New York: "Everybody Street"; this year's PLANETE+ DOC festival selection: "Song for the Forest", "The Punk Singer", "#chicagoGirl – The Social Network Takes on a Dictator", "Everyday Rebelion" and "Ai Weiwei:  The Fake Case".
