There are 9 new names in Open’er line-up!
We’ve been waiting for such an announcement for a very long time! 9 new names joined the Open’er line-up. Let’s start with The Kills, who last year returned after over five years of silence. Their last performance at Open’er festival also took place five years ago. This time Alison and Jamie will play the material from their “Ash & Ice” new album, but surely we won’t miss the raw guitar sound, constantly developed since the time of their debut album.
When it comes to Royal Blood, just like in the case of The Kills, two musicians have decided to be responsible for creating the noise. Bass guitar and the drums are enough for them. And in this case less is more for real. Their first concert at Open’er Festival made history as the only concert after which the promoter was forced to repair the floor in front of the stage. With no exaggeration their finished, but not yet announced new album is one of the most anticipated premieres of 2017. We hope to hear at least some of the premiere compositions before Mike and Ben will arrive to Open’er.
George Ezra is in a similar position, vocalist, guitarist, an author of a great hit „Budapest”. His debut released in 2014 was one of the three bestselling albums of the year in Great Britain, so he should come back with brand new album. What the “Wanted on Voyage” successor will be like? We believe that as good as George’s first concert in our country!
Michael Kiwanuka will come to Open’er with new album which was reviewed as one of the best albums of 2016. “Love & Hate”, a classic soul album which is simply beautiful and even managed to enchant Adele. This will be Kiwanuka’s first concert in Poland!
Moderat will also play Open’er for the first time, and what’s more, they will perform straight on the main stage. Berlin trio turned out to be one of the biggest successes of the European electronic of the few past years. Their album triptych which was being released from 2009 until 2016 made history of this genre. In order to fully comprehend the phenomenon of the joint forces of Modeselektor and Apparat you need to see them live. Maybe on June 30?
The same day, you’ll get to listen to Warpaint performing at Tent Stage. The girls who made us comfortable with the rock melancholy from the verge of psychedelia and dream pop, decided to make their recent album more suitable for dancing. You can already check out the results of these actions on the “Heads Up” album but also at Open’er.
Today’s announcement also features some Polish bands. Taco Hemingway, who began his triumphal march at Alter Stage in 2015, will return to Gdynia with “Marmur” album. Julia Pietrucha, just like Taco has entered the Polish music top-league as a sensation, although her music is slightly different, she enchanted us last year performing at Open Stage in the heart of Gdynia. And The Dumplings will prepare their greatest hits for the festival with orchestral compositions.
